Green Energy Innovator Files Patents for Hard Carbon Composite Materials
Leader in green energy technologies Sunrise New Energy Co., Ltd. continues to innovate in the sector. In addition to its green energy reputation the company is also known as a battery component supplier that manufactures and sells graphite anode and other materials for lithium-ion and lead acid batteries. The firm garnered significant attention recently as it announced that it had successfully applied for two new patents related to hard carbon composite materials. The first patent is titled “A Preparation Method for Metal Sulfide Doped Hard Carbon Composite Materials” while the second patent is titled “A Hard Carbon Composite Material Doped With Antimony Alloy and Its Preparation Method”. The new hard carbon composite materials are expected to be a significant upgrade for the company’s battery components and in fact the company recently confirmed that EV manufacturer Tesla had inquired about their hard carbon composite materials. Specifically, the company stated that it received an inquiry from the battery raw materials team at Tesla asking about tech details, manufacture plans, and available capacity for hard carbon products. In addition, sunrise new energy also secured patents in august related to a cutting-edge preparation method for anode materials used in long cycle lithium-ion batteries and a method for high energy density fast charging anode materials. These two innovations are expected to significantly improve lithium-ion battery lifespans and charging efficiency. As the green energy and EV sectors continue to develop it will be interesting to see if sunrise new energy can take advantage of the landscape to position its products. Sustainable Next Generation AirShips Will be Modernized Using Composites
Sustainable Next Generation AirShips Will be Modernized Using Composites
Airship company Lighter Than Air (LTA) Research is developing a next generation airship that will feature a much more durable and efficient composites design, and it will be powered by renewable energy. LTA Research was founded by CEO Alan Weston with the mission of reducing carbon emissions in air transportation. After it was decided that the modernization of airships would help the company achieve its goals, Alan Weston saw modernized zero emission airships as a great solution in providing humanitarian aid thanks to their ability to hover and dock anywhere as well as their ability to carry large payloads. The company aims to make airships that are more durable, faster, and safer than those that were used in the past. LTA has already started the construction of a proof-of-concept airship which they are calling Pathfinder 1. The airship features a rigid design which is the best option to maximize strength. However, when trying to maximize strength weight becomes an issue. To make their ship as strong and as light as possible LTA decided to incorporate a variety of composites including carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass. Composites were used in many areas throughout the airship such as the gondola, gondola attachment struts, fins, motor covers, and several other places. Learn more here.
